I go to a private school that's k-12 and I made the h.s. varsity soccer team in 8th grade, but since the season didn't start until the next winter (I live in Florida, so it's always hot here) I decided to run track. Track was a silly sport in my mind

8th grade
1st @ districts
5th after a jump-off @ regionals where of course top 4 go to state.
Freshman year:
1st @ districts
2nd @ regionals
seeded 3rd for state

Sophmore year:
1st @ districts
1st @ regionals (i beat all the guys there too! yay for me!)
1st @ state

So now, it's my junior year and I'm a defending state champ and captain of a team in a sport that I used to think was only for the athletes who couldn't cut it at those "real sports"

I keep vaulting becuase it's objective. If you work harder than someone, more than likely you'll jump higher than them. If you didn't clear a bar, then you can't ever blame the officials for it. I also like it cause you can compare yourself to other vaulters just by saying your PR's.
