Unread postby flashgordon0123 » Wed Mar 21, 2007 9:12 pm

has any body jumped on an essx carbon pole? I am currently jumping 12 feet holding 13 on a regular essx, its a 170, but i only weigh 150. i think i might be blowing through it slightly, i want to move to a longer pole thanks

yes i have in fact i have quite the series of essx carbons from 14' to 15'9'' poles. they are lighter but react the same way and they are an all around great pole. go to the essx website http://www.xlogicsports.com and get the contact info for bruce and talk to him about what kind of pole that you would need

Ive jumped on both and I prefer Essx over Pacer, though I jump on Spirits now...

I like essx more because Pacer seems to bend very low where essx seems to bend more in the handle. This allowed me to get more out of the poles, which is why I jump on spirits now, because they just feel the best for me. So if you like jumping on Essx, I would suggest sticking with that brand, because you are getting a differently built pole if you switch to a Pacer Carbon, and you might not like it...

Just the way to look at the gamble in my eyes...

yeah i have had carbon fx's and pacer carbons(the predicessors to the fx's) and both are not quite the same as essx. for me i could never get on a big enough pole for it to give me good pop off the top but with essx i feel that the higher bend is much bettter for the way that i jump

I wouldn't say I have a LOT of experience jumping on either but I have definitely jumped on both. The Pacers have a much lighter carrying weightm but I don't really like the way they bend...it seems very low and it's hard to get timed up with properly. The Essx is heavier, like I said, but I got some good throw off of it and it seems to have a higher bend.

I think anyone buying carbon in less than a 15' pole (for boys) is wasting their money, but that is just me.

I have Spirits, Pacer Carbons, and Essx Carbons in my bag. I have to say the Essx carbons are by far my favorite, they bend high and roll over smooth. I prefer them to pacer carbons because I hate the low bend on them, but that is just me.
What have you done today to get better?
