Pole vault comparisons

I am wondering what everyone has heard polevaulting compared to, or what they compare it to them selves.
If you cant do it right , do if 10000 more times till you can

Well one of the obvious ones would be sex. I don't wish to go into details, and I think Becca would delete it if I posted it up!

but sex last longer than a vault....hopefully.....jk....you set yourself up for that one Scott, so I had to take it

haha yeah i have heard my fair share about the ones compared to sex but i am looking for something other then that

Basically like all the quotes "A good pland gets a vaulter high" "Vaulters penetrate" or some other ones. They are all sex or drug comparisons :confused:

After the last winter olympics, just over four years ago, the woman who won the skeleton bob (can't remember the name, sorry) for Britain said she was going to retire and take up pole vault, her quote went something like this:

"they are both very similar, you run as fast as you can and then do something crazy at the end"

She didnt stick with it very long after (surprisingly) she realised that there were a few subtle differences between the two.
Aim high, then at least if you miss you won't shoot yourself in the foot.

I think pole vault is like bowling... all you ahve to do is the same thing over and over :yes: sorry my compairison is boring
