Mine is 8', but I'm closer to 10' after practicing over the summer, but haven't been in any official meets.
I also threw discus, high jumped, long jumped, and ran the 200 once. I was more of a field event girl than a running girl.

there's your problem....stop running the 8 and the mile and run the 100/200 and hurdles instead. more beneficial to vaulting than distance is..... ;)

Our team wont' be starting anything until after christmas break. We then waste the first two weeks of outdoor season trying to get people into shape. I've been on my own lifting, running, and training for the vault. Plenty of hours in the weight room and out on the track.

our coach has us do a very hard lift then we run some sprints. I then go with my fellow vaulters and do some drills to get us to where we want to be. I do not know why we started so early b/c it will start to snow soon and it will get very cold then we will not be able to run. I think it is stupid but that is just what I think.
