Alright, after some discussion over on the T&FN board (
here), I'm pretty sure Pyrek didn't really take a shot at 4.92, so the scoresheet really looks like so:
Code: Select all
Pos Athlete 440 450 460 467 472 477 482 487 492 487
7 Silke SPIEGELBURG xo o xxo xxx
8 Vanessa BOSLAK xxo - xxo - xxx
6 Katerina BADUROVA o o xxo xxx
4 Tatyana POLNOVA o o xxo xxo xxx
3 Svetlana FEOFANOVA o o xo xo o - xo xxx
5 Yuliya GOLUBCHIKOVA o xo o x-
1 Yelena ISINBAEVA - - - xo - o o - xxx o
2 Monika PYREK o - o - o x- o xxx x
Just for the record, the IAAF live scoring is still showing Pyrek's last X in the 4.92 column, but I'm pretty sure that's incorrect (and possibly the source of the radio announcers' misstatement). It's even possible that the scoresheet software doesn't have provision for having no mark in the 4.92 cell for Pyrek, although I think they could've put a '-' there and it would be less confusing.
And as I commented over on the T&FN board, it was good to hear Isi sound so excited afterward. Like she got a kick out of having a jump-off.
