South Carolina Twilight Meets

Unread postby Carolina21 » Tue May 22, 2007 9:37 pm

Hello Vaulters,
I will be hosting a series of meets this summer open to any and all vaulters. Last year we had an excellent series of meets and look to have even better meets this year. The series will begin next Wedensday:

Meet #1: Wednesday May 30th 5:30pm, Women followed by Men.
Meet #2: Sunday, June 3rd 5:00pm, Women followed by Men.
Meet #3: Wednesday June 6th 5:30pm, Women Followed by Men.

I plan to continue the series with another 3-6 meets or more if the response is good.
Entry fee is $15.00 per vaulter.
Meets will be sanctioned.
We will use our newly created board runway in our indoor facility, which is very very fast as anyone who attended the street vault will attest.

Please send any entries to chrissteddum@hotmail.com, or you can send a PM to me through PVP as well.

The meets Chris hosts are excellent. They are very pole vault friendly with excellent conditions. University of South Carolina is an excellent place to jump.

The pole vault competitions at the University of South Carolina are great. Chris and Rusty are excellent hosts. If anyone has a chance to compete (possibly PR) and/or just come and watch it is definitely worth it. There is a new wood extremely fast runway and ideal conditions. Thank you for hosting the competitions, we are extremely fortunate to have a facility to compete in three meets in June in ideal conditions.

Just an update for anyone coming Thursday, we have had to cancel that meet due to several camps that interfere with our use of the facility. We will still however be hosting meets on:
Saturday June 9th
Wednesday June 13th
Sunday June 17th.

I apologize if anyone planned to come to the meet Thursday. We tried every option to be able to host the meet but do not have a venue.

Pole Vaulters, take advantage of these meets that Chris is hosting because it is very difficult to secure facilities especially indoors in ideal conditions. Even if you haven’t pole vaulted lately, you can start very low a make it a practice vault meet plus get to see some 17-18 footers plus it is a great atmosphere.

The last we have firmly scheduled is Wednesday June 13th and Sunday June 17th. After that Rusty Shealy will host his summer camp the following weekend. We may resume meets in July, but I have to get a certain amount of vaulters to show up to make the meets cost effective. If enough people express interest to jump in July I will probably have meets most weekends.

Great meets, I plan on being there Wednesday 6/13, not 6/17 (Father's Day) and would really to compete in July.

I would definitely be interested in jumping in July, and could probably bring 1 or 2 other vaulters
