Statesville junior Jordan Daywalt attempts to clear an 11-foot jump at the Iredell County track and field championships on Tuesday. Daywalt has come close to a state record this season in only her second year competing.




When Statesville junior Jordan Daywalt arrived to high school, she was prepared to branch out in the sports realm.

Knee problems stripped her of her first love: gymnastics.
