Tall Pole Vaulters

Unread postby swtvault » Thu Jun 26, 2003 5:57 pm

After all the discussion on short pole vaulters, I decided to start this thread. Of the 9 or so guys over 6 meters, all of them but two perhaps were over 6'2. The nots, Bubka and Markov, both said to be 5'10 or so.

So that leaves us with Hartwig (6'3) Gautaullin (6'2) Lobinger (6'4) Galfione (6'2.....probably wrong here folks) Tarasov (6'4) Trandenkov (6'4) Brits (6'6.) Am I missing any?

***Franc Selbert (4'10 MWR-midget world record) jumped 6.02 in an exhibition in France, but the mark was never ratified. Only kidding, no idea how tall this guy was but he supposedly made this mark.

In conclusion, everyone should grow so that they hit at least 6'2. Yeah, Bubka and Markov were kinda short, but those guys are freaks! And Dup too!

If your talking about Bobby most, he isn't 6'10". Im not sure exactly how tall he is though, he is a member of pole vault power though.

Nope definately not. He might not be there anymore, I know he was last year. I saw his height on the Red Raider Roster. I think his pr was like 16- or 16-6. I think he was a senior last year.

I dont ever remember anyone from TTU being 6'10. I heard that Tommy Skipper is like 7'6 though! I also heard he can bench 600 pounds and run a 10.1 100m! Someone said that he also is on 5.80 6.2 poles......capping them! Amazing
