My coach said the school will buy me a new pole. Need help!
Alright I'm 6'1'' 175lbs. I should be more like 185 once outdoor season comes. Right now I am jumping on a 14-75 and I have my standards at 31". My PR is 13'. The only other pole my school has right now is a 15-75. I am referring to all USC Spirits.
Can anyone tell me what size pole I should get? Assume I will be 6'1" 185 by the time I will use this pole. Thanks.

If you are going to be 185, and jumping the same way, the 15 175 may be the next pole up for you, if you have gotten faster, and been working on technique.
You are already through the 14 175, which is 'equivalent' to a 15 165, so maybe the 15 175 is the next jump.
You may want to wait and find out before purchasing a pole in between that you might blow through.

I actually agree with that too. 6'1 175 is pretty solid. You should not be lifting in a way to try to gain mass. If you are doing Olympic lifts and you gain some weight anyway, that's one thing, but 10 pounds is an awful lot of muscle to put on between now and track season. You're not going to put on that much in that short of time without some effort.

Thanks for your replies everyone.
I had a meet yesterday and this coach from Ithaca College told me I could definitely get on the 15 175 pole I have right now judging by my size, speed and takeoff. Now I dont think I need an in-between pole, but one to work with after the 15 175. Maybe a 15 185 would be good.
I know I'm good sized for a vaulter right now, but I'm playing college football next year and need to put on some weight for that. I have put on 25lbs in each of the last two offseasons for football and hope to do the same this year.
