What did you hurt? Is it you Piriformis?
I think you might need to adjust your training mindset as well. From your posts it sounds like you train with your College athletes. You probably can't train at the same frequencyand you will need to reduce the amount of "hard" training phases as well.
I've found my body is not responding well to plyos, so lately I've been doing my jumping workouts so that most of the movements and all the hard stuf is "up" only. That is to say I step down rather than jump down and spring back.
Similarly, with weights, I've dropped Squats all together and just do Deadlifts, dropping the weight after each rep so there is no negative movement. It's too soon to tell if these changes will help my performance but so far they are helping reduce the pain.
You may need to play detective and find out what kind of changes you need to make. Hopefully you can do that without hurting yourself too bad in the process.

I agree with Becca and jumpinback - adjust down and set lots of little goals. BTB author, Alan Launder suggested I start my season by finding my PR from 2, 4, 6 and 8 steps as my warm up. It was fun and really has helped. Also you can follow DJ's chart and progress only after you've cleared each bar. http://www.bubbapv.com/Pages/dj.htm I start at 8' each year and my run moves back as I need it in order to hit the mid.
It's OK to be obsessed. It probably helps, but have a sane plan. I've found that I can do anything and respond/recover well as long as I never do any component more than twice a week. If you want to email me privately I can give you some real specific guidelines for where you are. I’m at polevaulter@msn.com or bubba@bubbapv.com
It's tough to start back once you were an elite vaulter because some things are still real good and others aren't. That's why I was hurt so much. It's also why I rarely get hurt now. Give me a yell Tim and we can get on the phone too if you want. It would be nice to catch up anyway. All the best. Bubba

I forgot to give you guys this link, if you don't already have it. It's an age graded table that tells you what your jump today would equate to in your prime. Pretty fun tool. Bubba
