Yeah, that video was pretty good! I kept watching it over and over again! lol It was amazing how loud it was when the pole broke!

let me guess it was a carbon. and he probably pulled too hard with his top hand.

Looks like a Spirit. And the problem was that he pulled down on the top hand, but only because he didn't bend the pole past 90 degrees before taking off...

i heard that the part of the pole that broke that went flying backwards went 100 feet back and hit the bell....but that might just have been a rumor

It broke into about 5 pieces, and the handle did hit the bell - you can hear it in the video, ever so faintly...

He couldn't penetrate into the pit on it the week before - this was his first attempt on it since that meet a week before.

i bet that one stung the palms a bit... anyone know if the pole was dinged up at all? ive never seen a pole explode like that...

It wasn't dinged at all that anyone could see, unless it was dinged under the wrap. Still, when you're breaking poles into more than 2 pieces, it's generally an overload break, and not a damage break.
