wow.... he must be able to rack the entire weight stack in an upright row. Id like to give that a try. I know another ab exercise in that position is holding yourself basically horizontal to the ground like him, but turning your feet from left to right, spinning them almost. Just holding there targets your abs and the spinning gets your obliques like crazy.

So. if you see Becca's gymnastics videos you see what is necessary to become a better vaulter. All drills and strength activities must be able to be done. If you can't do them thenwork on em. All my kids have access to these activities and the conditioning is based on these abilitites.

One arm pull ups

Unread postby drcurran » Sun Oct 29, 2006 8:15 am

Has anyone ever seen anyone do a true one arm pull up (not one hand on the bar and other hand holding on to wrist)? I remember hearing that only like one in a "million" can do one. Oh yeah, has to be done from a dead hang, no swinging. Would really like to see video if anyone has it. Thanks

Dan

I did one on a ring the day before we left for indoor nationals, i felt like my bicep was going to rip off when i was doing it. ( i got in trouble for doing it)

im impressed... its not a matter of muscle tone and size at that point, i dont believe, its more about your muscle and tendon attachments and their maximum load capacity... because if your muscles arent built right and you arent warmed up enough i could definitely picture someone just tearing their bicep or lats pretty easily.

I've only done one front lever pullup.. the hardest part is keeping your body parallel to the ground and steady. Felt like death afterwards.
