Title IX

Put me down against Title IX or any other bureaucratic mandate. How about letting schools keep whatever sports teams in any ratio they so choose. And how about envy of the other gender not playing any role in the decision whatsoever . I don't care if they want to give scholarships to 4 foot woman high jumpers, just don't cut men's programs just because you can't recruit enough girls who take enough interest in sports to participate.

With the whole football being 80 scholorships girls cant have...if you go to a decent football school it is going to bring in ALOT of money for the school. Same with basketball. So it seems kinda unfair that the mens teams are bringing in money for the Athletic Dept. and then mens teams are being cut when the school runs out of money to add more womens teams.

In my personal opion Title IX is an amazing idea and it was really needed. but i also think that its starting to go the way of affirmative action. its getting to the point were colleges are so obessed with meeting the standards that they offer more scholarships to girls in certain events(obviously football will almost always have the most scholarships) cutting down the sizes of the boys teams and sometimes using it as an excuse to cut a boys team completely.
its a great thing and i think everyone should be treated fairly but fair isnt always equal. for some reason laws like title IX and organizations like affirmative action always get carried away and wind up screwing things over.
i believe in the future white males aint gonna get s*** and be living off the streets fighting for rights cause the ethnicities and females and cripples and goin to take over lol.
instead of denying people access to a college because they're white(my friends have actually been told that) or cutting a team cause its a guys team and the college wants to look better to the people applying there they should bring up the standards of the other side, i.e. accept the white guy with a 4.0 instead of the spanish femal with a 3.5 or keep the boys wrestling team and have a fundraiser to start a new girls team(wrestling technically is co-ed btw so shouldnt it be counted as a boys and girls team). if theres enough interest the fundraiser should work and the team will get started, if the fundraiser makes like $5 then obviously no ones interested in that particular team.
Personaly i think that its sad and harmful to our society for laws such as Title IX to be necessary in order to make sure that people are treated fairly.
Well just my two cents, im sorry if i offended anyone with this article but stuff like this pisses me off sometimes. I was recently informed i could get a scholarship for having blond hair and i got pissed off about that too so its not like im mad cause its against me. i just think its stupid and ridiculous.

I never thought about TitleIX until i had two girls. I was very fortunate that they both turned out to be pretty good athletes. I am very thankful that they were very competitve, worked hard and set goals to compete in college after high school. Together, we planned to make this happen. Without Title IX they would not have had this opportunity. I watched them out work gifted male athletes day in and day out for several years. We did fund raisers just to buy a pit. They earned their scholorships! If there's a will there's a way. I know how colleges play the numbers game. Do the math. Find where you fit in. 99% of failures are people who make excuses.
