some colleges i'm really looking into but know fairly little about are university of oregon, uc san diego, san diego state, and cal poly SLO. if anyone can give me information on what the school is like and what the vault program is like (and generally how good a girl has to be to get on the team) that would be soooooo helpful in my college searching!
thanks!

They all have good pole vault programs. You should email the coaches directly to see what their standards are to walk-on and for scholarships.
Cal Poly's coach is Jock Hoyt. This is his second year there, but he was at Seattle Pacific before and did a really good job. I was looking at transferring (well graduating and going to grad school) to SPU from Georgia, but I got an offer I couldn't refuse from Lindenwood and ended up there instead.

San diego state coach is Rick Fox. His girls have jumped well for the last several years, with 14 footers the last 2 years. He has 5 to 8 vaulters (no men's track). They have an indoor season also.
UC San Diego is a great location and competes in meets against the best in Cal and the Southwest. They have a great outdoor meet every year that draws someof the best vaulters, since it is one of the last chances to qulify before league meets, etc. The vaulters are OK. D-II, no indoor season.
U of Oregon has had great vaulters for years. Indoor season also.
Cal Poly has an indoor season, but they never update their website so it is hard to learn much from it.

and just curious...no mens track at san diego state??? like, at all? cuz thats unusual
I believe UO is either building or raising money to build an indoor track. SDSU's men's program was a casualty of misuse of Title IX. Cal Poly doesn't have an indoor program for men but does for women (if I remember correctly). Once again, Title IX.

No but they can pole vault under the stands, so you don't have to practice in the rain. It may feel a bit chilly compared to CA, but it doesn't get THAT cold in Oregon
