and for this one, it's a myth.

Shoot, I forgot to reply with a quote. The question is:
If the wind is blowing your pole towards the crossbar, you can catch your own pole

I bought 10 pole from Altuis who don't mark weigth on the contrasting band like every other manufacturer. At our conference meet, the coach running the pits told me that my poles would be illegal at sectionals.

I havn't seen any Altius poles in quite some time. Just what method are they using to mark their poles?

They have a piece of red tape about 6 inches down, the the weight rating engraved in large numbers running vertically above this.

OK, I get the picture.

Red tape: assuming this is the hand-hold band, is it a 1" band of red tape. There is a reason I'm asking.

Weight markings: are these etchings at least 0.75" high and readily visible.

I was told my coach that by tapping lightly on your chest where your ribs meet, with the tips of your fingers, helps start to move blood and circulation, and helps release some more energy/adrenalin into your body, and before a vault that can help your body perform.

I have had my experiences with it, and I am curious if any one else has heard any thing like that?
