Professional polevaulter income?

Unread postby sooch90 » Sat Jul 29, 2006 10:56 pm

Just out of curiousity, how much would a professional polevaulter make a year? Or maybe just give an example of a professional pole vaulter's income.

Depends on their contract with their shoe company, their IAAF Ranking, and how many big meets they can perform well in in Europe.

Most don't make much. Few make enough to support themselves full time with it. A small handful have made 6-figures, but that is a VERY small handful.

well i know a few vaulters and the contracts...

lets just sayyy

youd prolly make about the same amount being a full time manager at the local k-mart

most of the money comes from winning big meets in europe. or if your a real big shot, youll get some appearance money, and the meets will often pay your way. but almost every vaulter is doing something else on the the side to pay the bills.

That's why Isi and Bubka and Dragilla all beat the record by 1/4 inch. They get a bonus for setting a record, so they creep up the height and pocket $25k or more for each record.
