The best thing Dan did was get Hunter not to make dumb mistakes. Like coming in at 5.80 when your PR is 5.51 (I remember seing him do this once....for some reason I think it was '00 NCAAs). For someone with obvious intellegence (dual engineering degree) he made the absolutely worst decisions I've ever seen.
Also, if you saw Hunter's VT technique compared to it under Pfaff, there was no comparision. He may have been the best collegiate technician I've ever seen while he was at UT. At VT, he relied a lot more on pure athletism. He would have jumped 5.80 in college if he wasn't so interested in posing for the camera while going over PR bars.
