biggest poles ever jumped on

Unread postby SweetPVJumps » Thu Jun 01, 2006 1:36 am

just randomly curious, what are the biggest poles vaulted on by a man and by a woman. i think bubka was on like 17 foot poles right?
also what are the biggest poles normally used by elite vaulters ( i mean not just specifically the biggest ever jumped on)
just wondering :P

Good question....I don't know much about this, but I want to add to the question. Not only the biggest pole used, but how high the vaulter gripped.

i think that was a typo. i think he meant 18'8. thats what it says on bells website. rumos has it he has cleared some big bars in practice. but thats just practice and doesn't count til he busts on out in a meet. def. has the potential though

Highest grip that I've heard of that has been used is 17'4. Im sure you can guess by who, but holding that high takes away from the vault. He then would hold lower for maximum fly away.
Just you wait...
