In need of major help!!!!
I'm a second year vaulter who is in need of major help. Last year I was vaulting around 3m (10ft) and I was doing just fine, good run up, strong plant ect.. but this year every time I go to vault I feel liek i'm jamming or fighting the pole or something and I can barely do 6ft that's if I dont already finish my turn before I get there. My highschool city track meet is in 2 weeks and I need to fixe this now, I'm in way better shape then last year so I dont know why this is happening. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hey thanks so much everyone for all the help, I'm clearing around 8ft now but when I get anything over that all I do is either clip it with my face or my spikes, or even my sunglases and my coach is saying I'm turning too soon and that's sending me off centre and that's why all that is happening, but when I go straight up the side of the pole I feel like I dont have enough power to high enough and far enough even though now I'm more upside down and my feet are higher. KEEP THE HELP COMMING I'VE GOT 1 WEEK LEFT!!!!!! THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!!!!
practice a 2 step holding really low (like 10') to clear a 7' bungee, then 3 step 8', then 4 step 9'. move up 6 or 9 inches on the pole with every left you add to you run for this drill. This gets you inverted really quickly and easily- you will definately get into the pit so you can focus on your technique while upside down. If your form is good, you should be able to invert and push over at least these heights- I vault 10'6 and can clear 8' easily w/ a 2-step invert, 9 w/ a 3-step. This will help you once you get back on the end of a pole with a long run- just remember to vault each next height and grip height you need to have more speed- hence starting farther back.
