Flagging

Unread postby PeterGriffin » Fri Apr 28, 2006 4:35 pm

I have trouble not flagging out. I flag so bad that when I am still on the pole my feet are underneath the bar on the otherside. I have somehow managed to make a bar of 11-3. Does anyone have any advice on how to help me to begin to fix this problem?

i cant tell w/out a video, but maybe u are just afraid to fall off the mat that u will only let go when u kno ur safe(that was my prob). just try to gain confidence, by gettng to the mat consistently staright and deep.

This is caused when the pole swing is slower than the vaulter swing. You need to provide more info such as length of pole grip on pole If you are holding higher than you vault lowering the grip 1 fist can help wonders and help speed the pole swing to match the vaulter swing. it is all about the double pendulum. ANd you need thepole under you to push off or get energy from.!!

Bruce is right. 99% of the time the answer is to lower your grip

by flagging out do you mean that the legs barely clear the bar, but the upper body sails much higher over the bar?
