pole difference
how much of a difference is it between a 14'6" 140lb and a 15' 145lb pole? i am on the 14'6" pole and the 15' is the next pole up that we have.

this might help you
Convert the weights to Kilos
140/2.2=64 kilos
145/2.2=66 kilos
then to move from on size up to a 6" longer size subtract 2 kilos
and that is the correct poles to be on.
so an equal is a 62 kilo 62*2.2=136.4 in the next size up
so in this case you will be sumping on a pole that is 8 to 11 lbs stiffer
and if you move the hand up a bit for every inch you subtract from that 1 lbs. You can se with this method you have to still have to be under the pole rating for it to work properly.
Now other brands may be a little different than ESSX, however this method will help you get close enough for a safe transition.

yes U seen the differrenace between a system of 10's & 1
According to the Chart it is a difference of 15 pounds?
ESSX uses a system that is divisable by 10 and works within 8.8 lbs. other poles tend to average their weight sizes and this will be the difference you see it is about 8.8 lbs per 6" length and 17 lbs per 1 foot length.
