While cleaning out the PV garage at the high school where I coach I found 3 older UCS/Spirit poles that just happen to be perfect fits for two of my top vaulters. They were buried behind a bunch of 3" diameter 15' Cata Poles from the 1970's. I have two questions:
(1) What can I use to clean off the old tape residue without damaging the fiberglass?
(2) Our state HS rules (and perhaps all HS rules) require that the weight rating of a pole be marked at the top in a contrasting color that is at least 3/4" high (the white and orange band on many new poles). The poles have the manufacturer's etched lengths and weight ratings and have not been cut. My question is, can I create my own label in a contrasting color with the weight rating so that my vaulters can use these poles in competition? As I read the rule, the poles need to be marked by the manufacturer but the lable doesn't need to be the manufacturer's.
