At the end of the season I'm going to put together a cinematic video for my team. For the music I would like to have music that somehow relates t pole vaulting. My guess is, I'll have some regular action shots, some pictures, a quick interview with each athlete (name, grade, PR) and a slow-mo section mainly for the senior. So far here's my list
Higher-Creed
Jump-Panama
Free Fallin'-Tom Petty
Highway to the Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins
Upside Down-Jack Johnson
Swing Swing-All American Rejects
Fly to the Angels-Slaughter
Knockin' on Heaven's Door-Guns n' Roses
Falling-Staind
Hero-Nickelback
Headstrong-Trapt
Fly Away-Nelly (hey I fit in an R&B song)
I'll probably play only like 30 seconds of a few, so if there's a little bit of profanity I'll try to pick a part with none. This site is so diverse that I thought some of you would have some great ideas. I found it easiest to think of songs from soundtracks that involve high stuff (Spiderman, Top Gun, etc.)
Oh yeah remember this one from 2001? "Bcuase I Got High"-by ??

I believe it's actually less than 60 seconds. Back in the early 80's there was a bunch of dance mixes called "Stars on 45". That's how they got around it. They'd record a disco beat for a gazilion minutes and just wind 59 seconds worth of all the popular tunes of the time around the beat. It did pi** a lot of people off in the music biz but it was legal. The bottom line is, is that nobody is really going to get that excited if you do a limited run for you and your teammates. It's when you try to market it that you're going to run into trouble with it. Generally under 100 private copies it's no big deal. I've been there and done that. In fact I recorded a thing that was originally done by the Gatlin Brothers for a Christian music project that I wanted to give to my friends and family. I e-mailed Larry Gatlin and explained what I was doing and he "e-d" me back and gave me his blessing on the project. It was kinda cool. So you might want to go the "ask first" route but frankly if it's going to be a personal (meaning you, friends family etc.) deal, I'd just do it and have fun with it. Later...........Mike
