Defending State champion Scott Roth of Granite Bay won the pole vault at 16-10 and then had the bar moved to a national indoor record height of 17-7, where he had two close misses before failing a third time. Roth’s mark makes him the fourth best California indoors all time.

Next meet will be the summit. But plans are in the works to compete at the Simplot and Nike meets.  We have footage but are too lazy to figure how to get it from the camera to the web. But he had 4+ radial clearance until he began to see the bar. He then through his arms back and the chest went into it. He is not as clean over the bar as Spencer.
