Nike PV Lite Spikes

I don't have nikes (sprru), but my reebok PV spikes are 1 size lower than my regular running shoes (asics/mizunos) and they fit perfectly.

I'm a guy and unlike most Nike spikes they don't fit a 1/2 small...maybe 1/4 size if that makes sense. Basically I wear an 11 in a normal shoe and my PV Lites are the same.

I've always understood that women subtract 1-1.5 sizes when the shoe is unisex.

weird. i had a pair of nike lj's purchased in 2003 that were size 9.5 but i but i had to go to size 9 for my pv lites this past year. i also tried on the new lj's and thought that the new 9.5's were too big and the 9's fit well, but my old 9.5 lj's still fit well also.

so my opinoin is this years nike spikes run bigger(since i had to go down 1/2 a size) than older models.

please dont make fun of my small feet.

oh, and i do really like the shoes, the pv lites that is, but i still like the old lj's a bit better. if i had to rank it would go

1. old lj's
close second: pv lite
3. new lj's (i only tried these on. never jumped in them)
nike tj is ok, but not as much my style as the lj or pv lite model
i also liked the reebok long jump shoes i had several years ago.

there are a lot of good jump shoes out there. you cant really go that wrong. if you see some 2003 lj's on sale, snatch them up. otherwise i recommend pv lite, but if you can get a good deal on any jump spike and dont want to shell our >$100 just for spikes then you can just go with the least expensive jump spikes you can find(or even entry level mid-distance spikes, but what is the fun in that)

I know this is going off topic and is going to sound ghetto but.. I am in highschool and I was going to buy my own spikes instead of using the stupid school spikes but I couldnt find any and my srupid coach didt feel like I should get them so I had to vault in regular shoes the whole track season until I made it to regionals and he decided to give them to me..but I didnt want them anymore.. And the shoes I vaulted with were bad... like I looked so stupid...

your school gives you spikes?

when i ordered my PV lites from Dick Ponds, i had someone from the store try on my old shoes (the nike TJ) and the PV lites to see how the sizes run. they are more than willing to do something like for an athelete. give them a call and they could help you out. (did i mention that i REALLY like that store?)

I've learned from a reliable source ( ) that if a woman wears size 9.5, she'll need size 8.0 in these shoes. Based on this info, we are ordering 7.0 for a girl who ordinarily wears 8.5 (in women's size).

I'll let you know if it works out right. We figure, worst case scenario, if the don't fit, we'll ship them back and get the larger or smaller size.

I am happy to report that the size 7.0 Nike PV Lites that we ordered fit the girl who ordinarily wears women's size 8.5. So I now know of two instances where 1.5 sizes adjusted down fit correctly. If you are ordering on the web or mail order (i.e., without the benefit of actually trying them on in the store) this conversion may work for you too.

We ordered from First to the Finish. They gave us a good deal and they were reasonably quick.

The PV spikes are awesome. I originally got the new long jump spikes, but after two weeks they were killin my lower legs, so i ditched em and went back to the PV's. They are solid, supportive, padded well, and light.

bing your talkin about the wrong spikes. yours are the tj/pv

the ones hes askin about are the pv lites.


Really any of the nike spikes will work.
I jumped in the LJ's, absolutely loved them
I jumped in the old (black and red) tj/pv Loved em
I have a pair of these pv lites on the way.. pretty excited

personaly opinion of the pvlites...they have a more flatter bottom to them, not the exagerated jump plate that people who have worn the lj or tj/pv ones may be used to. It will more than likely at first feel like you are running in a very light pair of tennis shoes...

I bought two pairs of the PV lites last year, and I like them a lot. They are very comfortable....and light! The spike plate doesn't have as many spikes as the Nike Tj/Pv's, but there are permanent plastic spikes around each spike hole that provide great traction. The heel also has a plastic grip area on the bottom, which is nice. They are flatter than the Nike Tj/Pv's, which I was leary of at first, but they seem to be fine. Hope this helps:)
