Nike PV Lite Spikes

Unread postby RyanC » Tue Mar 22, 2005 10:12 pm

I am in the market for some new spikes, havent gotten any since highschool, and am in college now. I was looking on eastbay and saw the Nike PV lite spikes, and they looked kinda cool. I did a search and didnt find too much about them. Anyone have them? Like or Dislike? Anything that would be better?

Thanks for any info.

Ryan

I ordered these from eastbay, but if you want them you're going to have to wait a while. They've been backordered....mine were supposed to ship end of march but apparently the site says beginning of april now? They better be worth the wait! The skid plate looks the most interesting, the way they've configured the spikes looks like it will help performance. I'm using Nike LJ spikes from 2 years ago, I love them but I really want to try Nike's PV specific inspired spikes!

pv lite

I received mine today. They're pretty good I think I still have to wear them in. Vaulted today for four hours in them! (till the sun went down) I like the grippage on the track with them and the fact that it has no tongue and a velcro strap thing. They appear to have a lot of support and cushion. However, the stiff soul is FLAT instead of angled like the Nike LJ spikes which usually forces you run on your toes. This is my major gripe about them.

The PV spikes are awesome. I originally got the new long jump spikes, but after two weeks they were killin my lower legs, so i ditched em and went back to the PV's. They are solid, supportive, padded well, and light.

I've got a vaulter who's interested in a pair of these Nike pole vault spikes but she's not sure what size to get. She wears 8.5 in women's shoes (regular Nike flats/running shoes) but apparently these pole vault spikes only come in men's sizes.

If any of you women have these, we could use some help. What size do you normally wear in women's shoes (you know your regular Nike flats) and what size of the Nike pole vault spikes fits you?

Thanks,
Russ

I know this is going off topic and is going to sound ghetto but.. I am in highschool and I was going to buy my own spikes instead of using the stupid school spikes but I couldnt find any and my srupid coach didt feel like I should get them so I had to vault in regular shoes the whole track season until I made it to regionals and he decided to give them to me..but I didnt want them anymore.. And the shoes I vaulted with were bad... like I looked so stupid...

Pardon the inetrruption on this stream of consciousness thread, I'd like to get the conversation back onto the specific question that I raised about the Nike pole vault spikes (Nike PV Lites).

If any of you women have them, please let me know what your size conversion is. We are planning to buy them over the phone/internet/mail order, so we'd like to get the size right. A customer service person told me that 8.5 women's converts to 7.5 men's. But before we actually place the order, I'd like to hear from those of you who actually have the Nike pole vault spikes.

Thanks,
Russ

I'm a guy and unlike most Nike spikes they don't fit a 1/2 small...maybe 1/4 size if that makes sense. Basically I wear an 11 in a normal shoe and my PV Lites are the same.

I've always understood that women subtract 1-1.5 sizes when the shoe is unisex.

I'd always heard 1.5 sizes smaller. I wear a 6.5 in women's spikes, and I tried some 5's in men's that I got really cheap on Eastbay and they were a bit too small.
