With womens vaulting still so young, what do you think her legacy will be in 25 years?

Yeah that is what got me thinking about this topic. I still don't think that Stacy dominated as much as Isinbayeva. But i do think time will tell.

if isinbayeve is very close to her ultimate potenetial than her domination is about equal to stacy's but assuming she improves much more above 501, then yes she is more dominant. in my opinoin anyway. remember stacy also was reining world and oly champ at one time

I was just assuming that Isinbayeva is not even close to her potential. I agree that if she has peaked she is equal to stacy.

i guess it will also matter what happens to bubka's records. if someone eclipses them within a few years, and isin's hold on for a while then maybe she could be compared. of course remember to match bubka's 6 world titles in a row she has to win every two years until 2015. when bubka started winning world championships they were only every 4 years(ok, his olympic record isnt as impressive as wc's, but still 83, 87, 91, 93, 95, 97). isin has A LOT of catching up to do.

but yes, it doesnt appear at all that she is super close to peaking.

the girl who cracks 17, that will be the legacy. right now its still a growing sport, she just happens to be in the lead.

i like to think about it this way, its my approximate crossover.

think how many 18 foot men are out there (well not me but) and how many 20 footers

so we have a bunch of 15 foot girls, now we need a 17.

Appears to me to not be close to her potential yet. I think she's a female Bubka, waaay better lookin' tho.

I personally think that women's polevaulting is too new to tell. 5m sounds impressive only cuz 6m is impressive for a guy but i think that girls will be able to jump higher than 5.01m and that if she is supposed to be the female bubka she is going to have to jump a lot higher. only time will tell
This year your gonna have to work twice as hard.
