That's not how they do it for any other events for JRs, so I don't see it happening.

uhh, I see 19, and I know this list is out of date AND wrong (I know of 2 that should be in there, and arent). And this is HS only! Imagine how many freshmens in college have made 12'6"

I was referring to just those at the 12' 6" height who would not get in if it were at 3.85 to qualify, and not the total number.

Maybe 3.85 would work better. I just see a 3.85 qualifying height as being like the 4.0 bar, in that it is just above the normal progressions.

The event was quite "uneventful" and not because my daughter NH'ed. 7 girls qualified, 6 showed up. 5 of them were 13 footers. Winner was Rachel Greff of Rice at 12-8.

Sorry to say that USATF has a lot of work to do to get the event going again. The week before was Adidas Nationals on the east coast, so noone came out from there. There were more judges and assistants than competitors. They took the girls out to warm up 90 minutes ahead of time and then burned 45 minutes trying to fix the standards. 3 guys holding the ladder, one on it, 3 watching. The girls finished warm ups then they shut the runway down and made them stand around for another 15 minutes.

Then they made them remove their "extra" mid marks, etc. Only 2 marks per competitor. So if you have a different run (6 or 7 lefts) and pole for a different heigth, tough luck. And they chose the shorter runway for the girls, so 2 of the girls had to start their runs from beyond the covered plant box.

The fans had to sit over 400 feet away so it was hard to tell who or what was happening.

The winner was announced, but no podium, or ceremony.

All in all it was not up to USATF standards, and did not show the best of the event or the competitors.

I know for sure that next year, the Jr and Sr meet will be held seperately, not combined as it was this year.
The Sr meet location is known, but I heard no mention of the location fror the Jr meet.
