The Bubka shoulder drop hip thrust?

Unread postby JTred » Fri Jun 03, 2005 7:11 pm

I am reading from beginner to bubka and I'm ahving a hard time visualizing Sergey Bubka's technique of driving his shoulders downward and punching his hip upward. How do you push your body in two different directions? I remeber a post with a video of this but I can't find it, does anyone have a video of it?

Go to BTB page 155 - read it -then go to a childs swing - follow the directions in the book. The reason why there might be some confusion is that while Petrov talks about 'dropping the shoulders' we have found it better to think of 'driving the hips' -both sets of cues can have the same effect - but i have combined them.
