Wisdom Teeth

Does anybody have anybody have some suggestions for a gal who just got her wisdom teeth out??
Don't tell me any scary stories. I was real nervous, and my sis thought it was funny that I was more nervous about this than about pole vaulting...I couldn't explain it to her...

Not to scare you, but i got all 4 out at the same time and i asked my mom to bash my head in with a bat.

It was during cross country, and every time i ran, they would start bleeding.

Then one of the sockets got infected, long story short, most painful thing ever (worse than tearing my ACL)

But look on the bright side, none of that will probably happen to you!The only reason it happened to me is because i'm pretty sure i'm cursed

I got mine out a few months ago. Not that big of a deal. I just couldn't really eat much for a while.

Im a lucky boy, my wisdom teeth came in and they dont hurt at all, and my dentist said they can stay in there but then again, im a sophmore in college and still have braces 1 year my shiny medal butt!!!

my (twin) brother had his out recently...i was kinda creeped out when he came home all dazed, half-conscious, and swollen...but he recovered really quickly, i don't think he used any of the mega-drugs they gave him for pain!!! but then, he's notorious for healing at light speed...

I'm almost 18, and no sign of my wisdom teeth yet!! (crosses fingers, and knocks on wood)

and lucky me also...i never needed braces!!! had more than my share of cavities though

haha i must be super lucky then.. my wisdom teeth havent come in yet, ive never needed braces, and ive had one cavity in my whole life.

True dat. Also, take your antibiotics and your pain killers. I'm serious. I went to an oral surgeon to get all four of mine taken out (no problems there; he's very good surgeon).

When I woke up from the anesthesia, the local anesthetic was still working. I didn't take my pain killers for a couple of hours. BIG MISTAKE. The local anesthetic wore off and my nerves rebounded. So, not only did I feel all the pain of having surgery performed on my mouth without anesthesia, but the pain was actually intensified because of my nerves rebounding. The pain was extraordinary and sickening, and what was worse, I couldn't zone it out, because it was in my face.

I took the pain killers, but they take 30 min. to an hour to start working. So, I was in hell for about 45 min until I finally passed out. When I woke up, I was numb again. Needless to say, I didn't miss another dosage.

hey...thanks for all the good things to do. I'm through the 1st wk, and everything is ok so far...I think part of the success is that 1) I took my antibiotics and did the antibiotic mouth rinse thing and followed my little brochure to the letter (mostly b/c I left for AZ 4 days after the surgery) and 2) my surgeon stitched up the holes instead of having to use the packing stuff that i've heard a lot about from other ppl...

I'm still careful, though...just started eating semi-solid food.
