Kaylea Box 10'6 in 8th grade

Unread postby lonestar » Thu May 05, 2005 10:56 pm

Kaylea Box of New Braunfels Middle School jumped 10'6 to win the 8th grade girls vault at her District Meet tonight at New Braunfels High School. She then attempted 10'8, and after blowing through her 11'6 123 on her first and second attempts, moved to a 12'4 114 gripping 11' 4 and put 8" over it, just barely tapping it on the backside. 11'0 is coming soon! She won the 7th grade girls division last year with 8'6. Kaylea is probably 5'2, roughly 100lbs, and uses a 6.40 model pole carry and drop with a free takeoff.

Congrats Kaylea!

The Box is awesome!!! She is going to jump 11'6'' this year!! Watch out Jessica Doyle, this girl is going to put your record to shame!! :P Watch out for this girl in years to come... She will be the best thing out of New Braunfels since LoKo!! ;) She is the only girl I know who can analyze her own entire vault before she hits the mat... The Box rox!!!

Congratulations Kaylea :star:. Lonestar, any chance there might be some video that could be posted? If there is video, but not a place to post it, I could probably provide it.

I wish there was! I didn't have my camera with me though, and I didn't see any of Kaylea's family with one. I'll definitely try to get the next one on film though and get it posted. Thanks for asking!

Great job Kaylea!! Blake I hope she does break my 10'7 record. She will! She only needs a couple of inches more! I guess records are made to be broken and I think its pretty awesome when it's a Lonestar teammate doing it! Kris, see haha you ARE the man!

Kaylea, way to go! Let me know if you wanna borrow the headband haha
