You'd better stay away from the west coast then!

Sorry to break your heart, but Jim Davis is from Texas. Plenty of other great Cal vaulters though!

Earthquakes are nothing. More people die each year from cold weather in the rest of the country than ever get hurt or killed in quakes. Besides, quakes are fun.

The one I was in in South America was 8.7 on the rictor scale and over 3000 people died...needless to say it wasn't fun. :confused:
That's Jodie!!

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

Thats the link and a great one! We compared states by population vs 15' 16' and 17' vaulters. About as close to apples and apples as we can get.

Many people in this thread have made excuses regarding the weather. Who cares? A meet official isn't going to give you an extra attempt because you had a headwind. Excuses are meaningless. The best vaulters can vault high in bad conditions.

Also, I am supremely disappointed that everyone naming vaulters from Texas failed to mention Toby Stevenson, who is from Odessa.

Toby Stevenson PRs:
High School (Permian) - 17'
College (Stanford) - 18' 9.25"
Post-Collegiate (Nike) - 19' 8.25" (so far)

And Adam Keul, Kurt Hanna, Brian Hunter. I think Texas Wins.
But California is pretty Legit....Hysong, Miles, Harvey, Slover, Dragila, Ohara, Holiday

I'm pretty sure Brian Hunter was from Virginia...Only cause I competed against his brother last year. He does still have the Virginia Tech Record if my memory serves me correctly...Tech vaulters correct me if I'm wrong.
