Honeslty...only time will tell. 10'8" itself wount get u a scholarship, but ur a freshman so thats a very good start, don't worry about college right now, just put all ur effort into gettin you next PR, go after one little goal at a time, and before u know it, you will be amazed how many times u've broken ur PR. So don't worry, just have fun, and going to some camp wount hurt.

Keep studying hard and let the vaulting go where it goes. Maybe you'll jump high and maybe you won't, it's really too early to tell.

Regardless of how high you jump, your grades are the most important thing, so make sure you make school your top priority.

Im a short vaulter also, 5'6 or 5'7. Whenever i jump i think of Greg Duplantis (spelling?) He was a short vaulter too but he got up to 19'. Oh yeah. i am almost there too.

Im just wondering everyone elses opinions....Im a 5'6" boy freashmen vaulter, ven doin it Almost 2 years, my PR is 10'8".....U think i have a chance to get a good scholership?? ???

I am 5'7" and my PR is 17-9...my first two years i successfully cleared NO heights in any of my meets. I jumped 12 as a soph. 13 as a jr (i really had no chance of getting a scholarship), 15'7" as a senior and the schools came-a-calling. If you steadily improve and work on your technique, u have a much better chance than i did.

Lol I started mid season as a junior no pole and this year on a 1978 skypole now I can get over nearly 10' from 4 steps and Im waiting on a new pole to come in...Just keep trying..Im 5'9" and the youngest inthe grade.

hey all you have to do is work hard at it and theres no way to fail. if you leave nothing to regret and did all you could then there is nothing to worery about. i started jumping last year and ended up with 12'6'' my first season its all possible with hard work

im a bit taller than you guys(6' 2"), but as a freshman i jumped 10'6", sophmore 14', and junior 15'6". as soon as the schools could contact me i was gatting calls left and right. so you can definatley do it with alot of work. plus your only a freshan you may still have a bunch of growing to do.

Becca said the magic word, GRADES GRADES GRADES. A 3.7 will get you an academic scholarship at many good schools.Then you can choose where you want to go to school and walk on to their vaulting program if they don't give you an up front scholarship. NO PROB BOB, school is already paid for with the academic scholarship. Just reading this forum you can tell there's a ton of great vaulters here that frankly......want the same scholarships that you want. Make the playing floor very uneven by vaulting good AND being an honor student. The folks here are great sources for information and they'll give you many helpful things to do that if you follow them will make you the best vaulter you can possibly be. Key thing is have fun! Oh and as far as your height goes, 5'6" for a freshman is about normal height. Take a look at your Dad and you'll probably be about 1 to 2 inches taller than he is by the time you graduate. The exception is if your Mom comes from a very tall family. For some reason most guys that I've known in the latter category grow to be as tall as a tree. Later.......Mike
