Nope. The Buciarskis...5.50 & 5.75 compared to the Slovers 5.40 & 5.71.

I'm not sure how high they jumped but I think Bob Richards had 4 boys that all vaulted. Brandon jumped over 18 and Tommy and Paul both were at least 16 footers. Not sure what Bob Sr and Bob Jr jumped. Pretty good total for the 5 of them.

achtungpv, I am amazed at your vault stat knowledge. If ever I need info I know who to turn to. :D

Our family is still developing, except for me and my Dad.

Don Sr. (never vaulted, but hit a homerun off the pitchers head once) :dazed:
Don Jr. (dad) 9'+/- I will have to verify.
Rusty (me) 14' 11"
Chase (age19) 17' 7"
Conrad (age16) 12' 6" (expecting a big year)
Caitlyn (age12) 6' 0"
Colton (age9) 5' 0"
Total 56' 0"

I think the Shealy's are still way behind the Buller's. You guys are out of sight. :D

Highest Vaulting Family?

Unread postby roger/over » Mon Feb 14, 2005 1:36 pm

Actually, we seem to have two threads running--families of subscribers and families of elite vaulters. Here are a few additions to the latter, mainly thanks to Gérard Dumas.

Vaulting Family Total (Does it count, if there have been two wives?)

Bob Richards 4.72m
Bob junior 5.33m
Paul 4.98m
Brandon 5.60m
Tommy 5.18m

Total 25.81m = 84' 8"

Highest Total for Two Brothers

Sergey Bubka 6.14m
Vasiliy Bubka 5.86m

Total 12.0m = 39' 4"

Of course Sergey was a centimeter better indoors, but I like the even 12 meters they get on their combined outdoor marks.

Best Olympic Finish, Father/Son

Hervé D'Encasse 5.25m 1968 (7th)
Philippe D'Encasse 5.60m 1988 (8th)

That is too cool, 20 years later and 1'1 1/2" higher! My dad and I share a similar story, except it was our state meets, and it was 31 years apart!

This is from our senior years:
Pete Crews 1972 ~ AL, 2.60m (2nd)*
Scott Crews 2003 ~ FL, 4.41m (4th)

*Note: Dad was jumping on either a steel or aluminum pole. Little or no bend what-so-ever.

Okay - since I haven't seen any results for twins, I thought I'd post PR's for my brother and me.

My twin brother:
Mike McGinnis (1976) 15' 6" (4.72 m)

Me:
Pete McGinnis (1988) 15' 4" (4.67 m)

I'll include our great uncle (my grandfather's brother) since he was the real athlete in the family:
Charles McGinnis (1928) 13' 6" (4.11 m)
(bronze medalist in 1928 Amsterdam Olympics)

Any other twins out there that can match 30' 10" (9.39 m)?

well, my twin stopped vaulting after junior high, so his pr stopped around 9',
but i have gone 5.20, im sure i could teach him to vault at least 420 ;)
he was a better gymnast than me which was part of the reason he didnt do track in high school.
