when vaulting for a certain amount of years hopefully you will improve.
it is how you realize what you did and what to do to improve that will make the difference. recently i had a "break through" jump , my coach stated. it was on a 16 85 holding around around 15'2", bar was around 16' 8" and out of no where i just skyed the thing by atleast a foot and half. everyone in the gym stopped and was like what the. I dont know what it was but on that one jump i just did everything i was thinking about for the past year , and needed to do, and it was amazing.
My question is have you ever had experiences like this, where everything just comes together out of no where, even though you practice everyday and work for it, through the frustrating practices and all, it just clicks, and if so how good of a feeling is it

i know that feeling well giving that it was no 16'8''. unfortunatly for me it has yet to come this season which i guess is a good thing cause it means i will jump higher indoors. it is very frustrating to me to know that you work hard and things just dont always seam to work just right till that one day when everything just comes together. congrats on your great jump hopefully my day when everything comes together will be soon
If you cant do it right , do if 10000 more times till you can

17' 4.5" thats a nice number (my PR) same thing happened to me. I was a normal 5m jumper in meets I jumped in the low 16's and always jumped good at practice and on one day at confrence BAM 5.30. I have no clue what i did different or what i now do different from when i was a normal 5m jumper but I like it and hopefully the smae thign will happen again soon

You didn't do anything different. Most vaulters have an additional 6-9" in them, but put the bar up to the next barrier (in your case 17') and they change their vault, raise their grip, move up a pole, etc. thinking they need to do something different to clear it. If you smoke 16'6", why change your technique or pole or anything for 17'? Keep doing what you're doing and be technically consistent.
