traderonline.com or go pick up an Auto Trader at the grocery store. Buying a brand new car is not a good investment in my opinion as it loses a of value as soon as you drive it off the lot. Also check out the Consumer Reports car ratings for reliability and all that stuff.

I've never bought a used car, but my friends that have swear by Carmax. They also have a website, Carmax.com.

try buying a car and driver magazine...it tells you the safest/most durable/most reccomended cars and any other information youd want to know about new and used models (soo informative) and once you pick a few go to the nearest dealerships...thats how I found my nissan pathfinder (good car btw) (if your looking for suvs the suburu forrester also got really good ratings) good luck :-)

Personally I'd just go to a dealership near by that sells used cars
