no bashing intended..Sorry Becca....I don't know the guy personally, and I was definitely not trying to attack or defame anyone's character. I was just merely satirizing broad generalizing statements like the one mentioned. No harm intended! :D

Hey guys,
just to set the record straight, my dad was not offered the option to be a volunteer coach. The head coach indeed wanted a coach who would also do other events besides pole vault. My dad was a volunteer coach for most of his time at UVA and he really wanted to finish coaching the kids, however the head coach said volunteering was no longer an option.

And yes, I graduated in spring '03, although I wish I was still in school. Real world is not all it's cracked up to be. :P

Hey Vika,

How are your brother doing? I haven't seen him in probably a year or so. I saw and talked to your dad at USATF junior nationals, he seemed like he was doing well.

Eric

And thanks for clearing up any mis-information...just trying to answer some questions, but it is better to hear from someone closer to the situation. You still have the school record at UVA, right?

Hey Eric,

No problem, feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer. My brother is doing well. He's currently taking some time off school and has just recently recovered from various injuries and is starting to vault again. Yeah, I have the school records at UVa, I think it's 12'5.5 indoor and 12'6 outdoor.

Are you and your brother vaulting in college? Hope William and Mary is treating you well.

Vika

Matt is at VCU and is on the track team there...He finished with a PR around 13'9 I think. He is having a few problems with pole selection -- as all the poles are 15 footers in the 160-200 range....and Matt and I are both about 5'6" 135 :dazed: so yeah...But he is doing well... Long story short--initially I thought that I was going to be vaulting here at W&M, and my PR leaving high school was 4 meters (13'1.xx) but after I got to school and the coach finally returned my call, he said he did not need me. So currently I am just training on my own and hoping to compete at some meets unattached in the future. It's going to be hard living on campus and trying to go to meets and transport poles without a car  Other than that school is great, and the first semester is going well. Hope all is treating you well...and sorry about the having to live in the "real world".....I'll take college life over reality anyday.
