what is the best Junior College to vault at?

What is the best Junior College to vault at? I dont know what i want to do yet so im gonna go to a junior college for a couple years. Im planning on going to Mt Sac, but is there anywhere better for a vaulter?

Yea, Cuesta is a good choice. You can't go wrong with Jan.

Cuesta is a great JC for vaulting via Jan Johnson. Mt. Sac is also good via Brian Yokoyama.

Golden West College in Huntington Beach is a great school as well, Coach is Kevin Magula. the CA JC state champ the past 2 years has been from Golden West. The past 5 years or so. the top JC vault schools in CA has been these three.

i may be somewhat biased b\c i went to Golden West and still contine to work with those vaulters, but i know JJ at cuesta and yokoyama at mt. sac are great coaches.

If you don't mind AZ you may want to checkout the phoenix area, Paradise Valley with Todd Lehman has produced many outstanding vaulters, plus with Sky Athletics working out in that area you may get to train some with Nick, Stacey, Keenan, Dason, and that group.

Rick Baggett coaches at Clackamas Community College in Oregon. It's a really pretty area, suburbs of Portland.

There are little to no junior colleges in the southeast. I would advise looking north of alabama, george, mississippi, and east of mississippi.

A junior college is also called a Community College, or a two-year college. These colleges typically offer AA or AS degrees, and only take two years to get one. They are lower cost than universities and have less amount of work to do. I would suggest most anyone to go to a junior college, it is no a waste of time, but more of a transition from high school to college!

Thanks for the votes of confidence.
At Cuesta we do have a good program.
But in my opinion California has good JC vault programs at many locations, including:
Antalope Valley CC over in the Mojave (Coach Billy Chilson)

College of the Canyons down in Valencia (near Magic Mountian)

Jose Santos

also does at great job up in Salinas at Hartnell CC.....and don't forget Santa Rosa JC or Chabot JC up in Hayward

. They both have very good coaches and always produce good jumpers. In fact, Chabot has one of the best tail winds I have ever seen.
Citrus college out near Arcadia Race track had a very good coach (Frank

) and one of the best winds in all of California.
Bakersfield and Fresno CC are also very competitive. Santa Barbara CC just hired a new head coach who also knows the vault very well.
The California JC seen is very competitve. The state features many good places to jump. Best of all the weather is good, and the drives to the meets are short.
