Question for the Guys!

My girlfriend wants to start pole vaulting, she is a post collegian, sprinter/jumper and is fast as hell. She used to be a gymnast too! My question is this, is this a good idea? I want to know your opinion guys on this idea. Do you want to vault w/ your girlfriends? I know its a random quesiton but your guys rock! i love reading these messages and just decided to join!

well, my girlfriend is hardly athletic...haha... but give it a shot...what's the worst that can happen? I think it would be even worse if you say no, she can't start vaulting... she wants to try it, why not let her?

i actually taught my girlfriend to vault last summer because she wanted to try it. she learned that vaulting is hard and i learned that girls are not easy to coach. just kidding. it was sorta fun. she still enjoys vaulting although is often frustrated that she is not improving as fast as she wants to. it is neat that she now understands somewhat the event that i am obsessed with although she is still nowhere as obsessed as i am(she claims anyway)

Absolutely! Just like any other sporting activity, you would go rollerblading with her, or rock climbing, or mountain biking, so why not Pole Vault! Besides, once they get that rush for the first time they are hooked and will be twisting your arm to go vault. Look out for the competitive side to surface though!!! It is so much fun watching your lady vault. What a riot!

Of course she should start. As long as she doesn't become a princess like some of the girl jumpers out there. Pole vault women are hot! Make sure you keep your relationship in perspective; before you know it the pole vault pigs will begin attempts of seduction. :D

I always try to get my girlfriend to vault. She always says she doesnt want to though cause she doesnt want to kill herself. But i say teach her cause then you will always have someone to jump with.
