In these videos, you are taking off under. It hinders your ability to swing. Also, keep the trail leg straighter - try to "kick the box"

You are taking off "under".
Also, work on dropping your shoulders and driving your hips up.

John, I've often heard coaches recommend that vaulters should drop their shoulders and drive their hips up, but I've never understood how that should be accomplished.
What muscles should be used, and what direction should they be moved (and when)?
Keep in mind that this vaulter's PR is 11-6, so please explain it at that level.

Using the Pole Vault Swing Up Rack the pole vaulter can feel exactly what muscles he/she needs to use to get inverted. It's also let's the coach decrease the swing up angle until the vulter has the strength to swing up. The coach can also move the vaulter into the stretch position then push the vaulter simulating the swing that starts the swing up.
