Natural Athlete!
There is a kid on my team this year that came in at semester. He is from the Virgin Islands, 6'1 175. He was a sprinter He has run a 10.8 100m, a 51 400m, and 21.8 200m. We were playing baketball one day and he jumped 2ft past the free throw line and dunked it easy! So we had him try the long jump and high jump. He jumped 22'6 in the lj and 6'3 inthe hj with the most awful form at a meet a week later! Next week he picked up a javelin goofing off and threw it 120ft, by the end of the day he half armed it 185ft! So we then made him throw shot, with not so bad of form a week later he was throwing 40ft! He can run the 110HH in 16.0 not knowing what to do. Our coach decided to stick him int the decath. at regionals even though he had never pole vaulted, thrown disc, or ran the 1500, and he had just learned the other events a month earlier. Today we vaulted and he stiff poled 11ft, not bad. Next id discuss. The sad thing is that he hasnt worked hard in practice at all and he is the most talented natural athlete I have ever seen!

o well i wish him the best of luck
This was his first day to ever touch a pole so I think 11ft is pretty good. He is from the virgin islands so he has never seen half the implements. And yes im sure cause half of the events he still doesnt know the name of them and his technique is still god awful, even running! Did you jump 11 ft the first day you touched the pole? The only reason we had him jump at a bar is because he is doing his first decath this weekend

His name is Darren Giddings and he is a freshman in college. The only variable is that he has to decide if he wants to get serious about track or not. He also has to do the little things, technique, weights, stretching and mechanics.
