Need advice about poles
Our (small) high school team is in dire need of new poles and I've been blessed with the task to order them. I'm in a quandary - wanting to order specifically for each pole vaulter, but need to order them general enough to fit later generations. I've been told to order for a 110lb, 120, 130, and 140lb vaulter. We are a small non-profit that has fundraised to replace all the track events this past year and am going into our first year w/ new events (but garbage poles and not enough). Do you have any suggestions for vendors and exact sizes? We have Skypole, Rocket(?), & UCSSpirit. We also need some rubber tips for existing poles. Check out www.rcafsite.com if you're curious about our crazy $1 million fundraising over the past 6 years. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Re: Need advice about poles
I'm an authorized UCS dealer and can give you free shipping if you purchase 4 poles. Saves about $155.00. Send me an email if you're interested and I can work with you to determine the best poles for your team in a "general" sense while trying to also match your known vaulters.

There are dealers of most brands located in every corner of the nation. Depending on where you are located no one has faster or more affordable shipping rates than
Gill dealers (there is no such thing as "free freight"). Look it up on our website or give us a call.

You're right, but there's a thing called a "discount" off of retail price. A discount is a discount and it can be given in multiple ways. I chose to call it "free shipping" (meaning I'll pay for the shipping costs) especially since that is a more "static" number that directly relates to the number of poles shipped, vs the big price variance with different pole lengths.

Re: Need advice about poles
Sorry about that Chris, I was not challenging you or your offer.
You are correct, freight is fairly static and free freight offers are a fairly common. I was only pointing out that the price of any item anywhere (unless you drive to the factory to pick it up) includes the shipping cost.
A single pole, or a bundle of 6+ of them can cost as little as 65.00 or as much as 150.00+ to ship depending on where you live. Crossbars are the worst, sometimes the shipping costs as much as the bar if you only buy one.
