on the topic of flex numbers, I'm curious about the other set of numbers at the top of pole. the ones where theres like a three digit number then a slash then a two digit number. for example, on a 15 160 lb. pole of mine, it says 46o/73. What do they signify?

460 length =15'1"

73 kilos = 160.6 lbs

I didn't (don't) cut the poles, my coach had cut the poles. Never understood it. Funny thing was we picked up the entire series in Carson City on our way to Reno I think in '98. He cut the poles in the hotel room and replaced the stickers perfectly. The next day when we jumped, the manufacturer of Spirit (forgot his name) knew they were cut. Funny stuff.

after jumping on the unwrapped essx poles in jonesboro-i will admit that it is ahead of any other vaulting pole out there. is there any chance for essx to make a carbon fastback?

what's a fastback again? I remember reading it on another thread but couldnt find it. i do know essx is makin a carbon though, for I hopefully should be picking it up sometime this week.

Those are test poles and far ahead of fastback poles.

They are double axial and Quadra axial test poles.
Yes they are very nice designs

whatever they are, they moved very very well. do you have any idea when these designes will hi the market-and also if carbons will be produced.
