Great article but the thing is Brian Hunter is not a small guy now. I he is tall and fast. Think about the short guys like Joe dial that was 5'9" and 165 pounds jumping 19'6" or scott huffman 5'10". Thats a small vaulter hunter has grown up he still need to mature though. He not a good example for young athlete with the way he acts.

Re:Little Guy
If you are going to Reno, I am pretty sure Joe Dial will be there and might be jumping!

Re:Joe Dial
Cool...are you going to his workouts on Wednesday nights? We will be there every Wednesday night for Jodie to work with him. Where do you live?

for all those who have replied negatively to this article maybe you didnt understand the reason i posted it, so i will clarify. When Brian was in high school (the reason i put it in the high school section) he was told, by his coach, he was too small and he couldn't vault. My track coach told me i was too small to jump and anything in the 15 foot range was impossible, but i proved him wrong and everyone else who though short guys couldnt vault. So i put this on here for all the young vaulters who have been told They couldnt, this article merely shows YOU CAN!

exactly how tall are you and how high have you jumped?? There are some pretty good short vaulters out there as well as on this board. I myself (as well as being old) am only 5'8" and still jump in the 5.20 (17'0 3/4") range and have a lifetime best of 5.50 (18'0 1/2"). As for the world class shorties - Jumpin Joe Dial, Greg DuPlantis, Scott Huffman, Chad Harting...........can i get some help here...........
