awesome comp! shame no live "coverage" was given. especially since 2 girls tied the ncaa meet record tonight. :deadrose:

hey

6 of the first 8 from schools in the mid-of the country..

maybe it's that "mississippi" river water...

how do they stack up by region?

good to see the quality.. and sounds like it was a great competition..

I'd guess they're used to training in crappy weather and bad winds so they're the least affected by the conditions.

If you always have a tailwind, nice temps, sun, and/or an indoor option, you are probably going to struggle in adverse conditions.

Gergel is a past Illinois State Champ in high school. She vaulted at a school that does not have a pit or any poles. I coached against her for four years. Wonderful young lady. Congrats to her.

in highschool Melissa had to go to another school to vault cuz marian catholic didnt have pits/track/poles/coach...she had to borrow poles ...and got injured for almost her entire senior season....its always AWESOME to see someone go from those conditions to NCAA champ
