There would only be a mess if Oklahoma wins. If LSU wins, I think they and USC would be glad to share the national championship.
On the other hand, if OU wins, there is going to be a lot of screaming from the whole country, minus Oklahoma. The bowl season has exposed the Big 12 Conference as the fraud of the year. They are 2-5 in bowl games. Their good teams finally had to stop ducking out of conference top-25 teams, and lost EVERY ONE of those games. In one of those games, #5 or 6 Texas played a "soft" #16 Pac 10 team and got beat. Over the whole year, the whole Big 12 Conference has one - count'em one - win over an out of conference top 25 team (aTm beat Utah).
And as weak as the Big 12 is, OU couldn't even win the conference championship.
On the other hand, USC's opponents have gone 5-1 in their bowl games, and Pac 10 teams dispatched the top two teams not playing for a national championship (#4 Michigan and #5 Texas). And the Pac 10 has at least four wins over out of conference top 25 teams, including three over top five teams (two over Michigan and one over Texas).
Lucky for Oklahoma that the BCS computers got turned off after the regular season.

Convincing win by USC notwithstanding, I think Navarre showed the country what a stud he is. He was knocked down and harrassed all day and kept making plays. The only interception was a total fluke.

yes, i agreee it would be worse if OU wins, especially now since they got the s*** beat out of them by K-state , Who proceded to get run over by Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. i still dont think usc or lsu would be happy wiht a shared national championship, especially sicne usc should have been in the Sugar Bowl in the first place.

ok, as a big Michigan fan, i have to disagree with you there. Yeah, that interception was pure luck for USC, not Navarre's fault, and yeah, the offensive line couldnt have played worse if they tried, and the play calling was horrible, (who decides to RUN right up the middle of the USC defense on 3rd and 4??), but Navarre's play wasnt great. it wasnt his fault earley, dropped passes, not much of a run game, but 9 SACKS is just not acceptable. ill give him a few because he had no protection all day, but he showed his inability to scramble around to avoid the pressure, and he made some stupid decisions to just hold the ball and go down when he should have thrown it away. ESPECIALLY michigans last play of the game, 4th down, lats chance, you HAVE to at least throw the ball up and hope someone catches it, but he just tucks the ball and goes down for a sack. DIDNT EVEN give his team a chance! That was the stupidest play by him iv seen all year. And he couldnt exactely get the offense going in the 2nd half when they needed it, and started to abandon the run game. The bame for that game can be put on the offensive line, and the defensive secondary, but Navarre didnt come up big when he was needed.

Why do you people keep thinking usc is # 1 when they didnt play a national title contendor, you cant play a second hand team and say we are #1! LSU has to play OU they are the #1 and 2 team in the bcs they are both title contendors, whoevere wins this game is the real champions! You dont see them playing texas or ohio state, you have to beat a title contender to win a title
