Want to try pole vaulting- International

Unread postby Felxi » Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:30 pm

So, first a bit of a background on myself. I competed in track and field (mainly distance) from grades four to nine. I then started playing basketball and soccer from grades nine to twelve. Two years ago, I rejoined track, as a sprinter. I have not competed, but pull off 14-15seconds in 100H.
I had a knee injury a few months ago, required surgery. During that time I went to see World Indoor Masters, and fell in love with polevaulting.
I am going to travel Europe next month, and would like to train while there. I'm willing to settle in order to do so, and money is not a problem.

I am female, 5'8, 170lbs and 21% body fat. I'm built kind of...no, completely, like a male (broad shoulders, narrow hips/waist). In the next month and a bit, I'm going to work on achieving the level of fitness I was at before my injury (17-18%bf).

Is this realistic? Where should I go for coaching?

Thanks

Europe is a big place, can you narrow it down a little?

Ideally, England/Ireland, France, or Italy. Being that I am going about location with a no strings attached view, if someone were to recommend say, Germany, it wouldn't be out of the question.
