Re: Filming pole vault for a video game
Its actually the mo-cap they did for the Beijing 2008 computer game.
Not my best vaulting ever, this was in 2007 October time I think so we were deep in heavy training. The bar was set at about 4.40, but I wasn't allowed to go any higher than 4.80-5m because it would have been outside the capture window, so it was all done off of short run. For this one they were capturing the jump and the celebration, thus why I'm celebrating to a fictitious crowd. They did the mo-cap for the run-up and the start of the run separately and spliced them all together.
For each event they captured a man for the men and a woman doing the event for the women in the game, but the pole vault was the only event were they used a guy for both because the girl for the pole vault was really bad technically(she'd admit it herself as well, we still train together and shes got a lot better since), so they just used her start and celebrations and my vaulting.
Just in case anyone was interested.......

Aim high, then at least if you miss you won't shoot yourself in the foot.
