Decision to Vault
Decision to Vault
I dont know if this has been posted before or not, but i'm curious as what made each of you want to pole vault? Also, what drives you each and every day to get out there and give it your all? Just curious
Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali

never was a big fan of team sports. i love individual sports with a strong team involvement though. of course it helps that i cant throw, catch, or shoot all that well. i wasnt too bad of a hitter in baseball, but nothing spectacular and i was a little afraid of the ball. plus i just love to vault. it is the greatest event in the greatest sport in the world.
The way I got into pole vaulting is a very weird one. I didnt play any sports through high school and my senior year a friend needed a sparing partner and said if I joined the wrestling team he would give me a pair of shoes, so I joined and after the season was over I wanted to compete some more. Another friend of mine was a pole vaulter and he asked me to join up and the rest is history.
So I guess it took a free pair of wrestling shoes to get me to vault.
