Jumping Your Age

How many people have jumped there age?
Tim Johnson 14' as a 14 year old, and 15' as a 15 year old
Casey Carrigan 14' as a 14, 15', as a 15, and 17' as a 17 year old in 1968 to make the olympic team!

didnt eshbach and skipper jump 18 as an 18 year old. did tarasov jump 19 as a 19 year old? he must have been close anyway.
has anyone jumped over their age? seems pretty impossible.
who out there cannot jump a foot for every year that they have been vaulting?

Carrigan's brother said in an article that Carrigan jumped his age from age 8 through 17. I don't know if he did the early ones in meets or not.

Eshbach jumped 17' or 17'3" as a 16 year old and 18'2 1/4" as a 17 year old (technically didn't turn 18 until that summer).

Jacob Davis jumped 15'6" as a 15 y.o., 17'6" as a 16 y.o., 17'3" as a 17 y.o., 18'6 1/2" as a 18 y.o. and 19'4 1/4" as a 19 y.o. The last two he turned 19 & 20 a month or so after those marks.

what is the "easiest" year to jump your age? 15? 16?

Lets see,
Duplantis must have jumped his age:
15'? as a frosh
16'? as a soph
17' as a junior
17'11 as a senior
Plus keep in mind he was only 5'6 or 7.
Blazing fast, with large balls and lots of skill.

C'mon Jan! The only time Dup has ever been 5'7" was in cowboy boots. He says 5'5". I say closer to 5'4.5"

For my money the greatest vaulter of all time. For sure the best one I ever coached. When he hears you called him 5'4, he's gonna kick you a**.
.....now that your living in East Tx, you could be in serious trouble.
I learned more about pole vaulting just watching him jump than I did in my previous 20 years in the sport combined.

Dup gets my vote as the greatest vaulter ever. His hotlanta performance has yet to be matched in my book. All young vaulters need to watch him on the runway to learn what it is supposed to look like. He also has a whole house full of half master race / half cajun boys just waiting to put the hurt on the next generation of vaulters.

-Sorry Jan, but I'd hate to call aggieville East Texas. There's not even any pine trees. But hey, Id probably call where you live "northern California" and I have a geography degree!
